Show Me A Sign | Matthew 12:38-42(ESV)
Would you believe in God if He showed you a miraculous sign? You might think that you would, but encountering miraculous deeds does not necessarily produce genuine faith. Throughout Scripture, Israel encountered miraculous deeds but regularly refused to trust in God. Our hearts are full of unbelief, and apart from God’s grace we remain blind to the glory of God in Christ. Thankfully, God has not left us in the dark. He has spoken to us through His word, and He has revealed to us the way of salvation. Jesus is the promised king who died for our sins and rose from the dead. By God’s grace, through the illuminating power of the Holy Spirit, we can see Jesus for who He really is – the promised Messiah who is greater than any other renowned prophet or king who has ever lived.
