Jesus's Authority To Forgive | Matthew 9:1-8 ESV

What is our greatest need? Depending on our stage of life, we can feel the need for so many different things. Is it health? Is it financial security? Is it having a job that gives you meaning and purpose? Or what about the need for life-giving relationships with other people? As humans, we feel our need for so many different things on a daily basis, and whether or not we have certain things affects the quality of our lives. However, even though our felt needs are often very real needs, we can sometimes forget that the Bible teaches us that we are in desperate need of something else. The Bible teaches that humanity’s greatest need is for God to forgive our sins. Thankfully, Jesus has authority to forgive sin, and He offers forgiveness to all who come to him in faith.
