Jesus’s Authority Over Demons - Matthew 8:28-34

When it comes to the topic of spiritual warfare, Christians typically err in one of two ways. Sometimes Christians can over-emphasize Satan’s authority and can adopt unbiblical ways of combating him. The other error is to adopt a materialistic, modern view of our world that leaves no place for believing in the reality of evil, Satan and demons. Today’s passage clearly teaches that we do live in a spiritual world that has a real, evil devil who leads a multitude of demons who oppose God and harm humans. However, Jesus reigns supreme over all spiritual creatures and will one day completely destroy all His enemies, including Satan.
