Jesus, The Servant king | Matthew 12:9-21(ESV)

Jesus, The Servant king | Matthew 12:9-21(ESV)
ECC Pastor Adam McCulloch

The gospel writers provide many different portraits and perspectives on Jesus’s identity. Matthew’s gospel shows how Jesus is the promised Old Testament King who has come to save His people. However, in today’s passage, Matthew reveals another perspective on Jesus’s identity. Instead of a king who abuses his power and authority, Jesus uses His authority to serve and build up. Jesus is a king unlike any other, and He promises that He will deal with gentleness and compassion to all citizens of His kingdom.
