Fulfill Your Ministry | 2 Timothy 4:1-8(ESV)
Scripture teaches that our time on earth is limited and it’s quickly passing by. What we do with our life now affects our future life in eternity. These truths are addressed in today’s passage. Paul knows his death is imminent and he’s confidently looking forward to receiving Christ’s gracious reward. In light of his impending departure, he commands Timothy to fulfill the ministry that God has given him to do. If Timothy is faithful, he also will be rewarded when Christ returns. For Christians today, the same promise applies. All who love and long for Christ’s return will devote themselves to a pursuit of righteousness and faithful service to God. If we are faithful to the end, we too will receive the crown of righteousness.
