Encountering False Teachers | 2 Timothy 2:14-26(ESV)

Scripture warns us that false teachers will come. But when we encounter false teachers, how should we respond? Paul’s advice to Timothy here encourages him to focus not on the false teachers, but on himself. Is he handling the word of God carefully? Has he cleansed himself of unrighteousness? Is he teaching with gentleness? Paul’s overall message for Timothy and for us is that the ultimate goal is not to win arguments, but to win souls.
