One Step Further | 1 Peter 3:8-12 (ESV)
Christ not only endured suffering and slander but he took righteousness one step further- he blessed and forgave his enemies. Christians are called to be like Christ, to follow in our Lord’s footsteps. It isn’t enough to merely have exemplary conduct in the midst of difficult circumstances and difficult people. We must proactively bless those who are against us from a pure heart. This is hard! How do we get to the place where we can bless even our enemies? We need to be radically changed in our hearts and minds by the power of God.
