Located in Hong Kong, ECC is strategically located to influence China and Southeast Asia with the gospel over the bridges of business and trade, tourism and education. These bridges provide unparalleled opportunities for mission-inspired action and witness, particularly in helping equip the fast growing church in Mainland China.
ECC's vision for outreach is to participate in God's mission to the nations. God's mission is seen embodied in the life of His Son Jesus Christ who came to forgive sins and feed the poor, who taught and healed the sick, who reconciled enemies and gave his life as the reconciler of the world.
We believe that Christ came to save the whole person, not only ‘souls'. Therefore justice and justification by faith go hand in hand; spiritual and material renewal are connected as is personal and social transformation. Mission is integral, involving proclamation and demonstration, making disciples and serving the poor, planting churches and seeking justice for the marginalized and the refugee.
In our mission philosophy and implementation we are attempting to embrace and reflect the concerns of the Micah Challenge and the U.N. Millennium Development Goals. We also adhere to the beliefs and principles reflected in the Lausanne Covenant, a document endorsed by 150 nations at the International Congress on World Evangelization in Lausanne Switzerland.
ECC is committed to this whole gospel here in Hong Kong, in Mainland China and in other places of the world.
This involves:
• Partnering with others through our missions budget and personal involvement with those who meet our criteria for integral missions.
• Communicating prayer needs and prayer for the nations and for those that serve Christ within them.
• Being wise stewards of the financial and physical resources the Lord has given us for the sake of the gospel.
• Coordinating short-term mission trips to different areas of the world to serve together with missionaries in places such as Africa, Mongolia, China, and other places in Southeast Asia.
• Educating and training those within ECC regarding God's mission to the world, its Biblical roots, its history and modern perspectives on mission so that ECC continues to be both a sending church and a supporting church for others.
