"A man's nature is to be curious, gentle, intimate, vulnerable, affectionate and to fully and safely express all emotions. When will we stop training him to be otherwise?" — Gordon Clay

We live in Asia, in which the expression of emotion is not encouraged for fear of damaging group harmony. Unfortunately this permits a man to ignore his emotional life, but at a high price to himself and to others. Yet understanding and valuing our emotional life is key to deeply knowing ourselves, others and God.

This engaging 6-session seminar/discussion will explore a man's emotional life. We'll explore "Steps to Serenity with the Shepherd" modeled after Psalm 23, where we find the foe, the feast, and a future. Here are some of the topics we'll cover together:

  • the mystery of male emotions
  • understanding loss and anger
  • handling stress, expectations & pressure (avoiding the ‘Bus Uncle' syndrome!)
  • the gift and art of real friendships
  • understanding male depression, its causes, signs and cures
  • exercise and play
