The most commonly misunderstood passages come from narratives, especially New Testament narratives. This seminar will address ways to correct our misreading of familiar text. In fact, the more familiar the text is, the more we’re prone to misread it. What you find after this lecture may shock you. So, if you’re tired of the same-old same-old, it is time to put some life back into your reading of biblical narratives.
Doctrine Two Creation Models Sundays, February 12th & 19th, 2:00pm-3:00pm, Hall, TST MC Facilitator: Alfred Tang, PhD in theoretical nuclear and particle physics, MDiv Nature as an existence created by God teaches us God’s goodness. The scripture on the other hand speaks specifically to the relationship between God and man. Every Christian ought to be a student of both scripture and nature. However the integrative study of scripture and nature is very complex and sometimes controversial. The Reasons to Believe (RTB) and Intelligence Design (ID) models are two options that are the primary focus of this class. Other creation models will also be briefly discussed for comparison. The class is taught on the layman level. No prerequisite is required.
